Certified as a Criminal Trial Specialist by the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1994, Mr. Millsaps has a strong commitment to defending the accused.  His extensive legal experience includes serving as a prosecutor and as acting district attorney for Newton and Walton Counties, giving him an in-depth understanding of the Georgia criminal justice system.  When he founded his solo practice in 1991, Mr. Millsaps became one of the few Georgia attorneys in private practice handling criminal cases exclusively.  Since then, he has taken over 100 jury trials to verdict in courts across Georgia.  In addition, Mr. Millsaps is a lifetime member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a founding member of the Georgia Innocence Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to freeing those who have been wrongfully prosecuted or imprisoned through the use of DNA testing.
